Chocolate Orange Fudge

Chocolate and Orange is a classic flavor combination - one that is especially popular in the holiday season. Fudge makes a perfect homemade gift as well, it keeps very well and can be dressed up in cellophane or mason jars.

Fudge is a surprisingly easy treat to bake. It doesn't take much hands-on time, there are hardly any ingredients, and the results are delightful.

This isn't a new recipe of mine. Some of you may remember this from June this year. Christmas retail displays and products are in full swing now, meaning that British and European treats are easily available for a short amount of time. That includes chocolate oranges. Of course in our kitchen that means chocolate orange based treats.

Did I mention this fudge only uses 4 ingredients? Yep... FOUR!

Chocolate Orange Fudge

Makes about 20 - 30 pieces

400 g can (14 oz) Light condensed milk
100 g (3.5 oz) butter
1 Cup brown sugar
1 Terry's Chocolate Orange (175 g, or 175 g of milk chocolate with orange essence)

1. Line the base of a (approx) 20 cm slice pan with baking paper.

2. Combine the condensed milk, butter, and sugar in a saucepan over a low heat. Heat for 8 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes.

3. Add the chocolate, stir until melted and well combined. Pour into the prepared pan and chill until set.

4. Cut into small squares and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Optional: finely grate some orange zest over the top before chilling to give a nice extra texture.

I was asked by Rasie.com to create a holiday season recipe as part of a holiday season recipes and crafts collection they are putting together. What's Raise.com? It's a place where you can save money, especially during the holiday season. You can buy a gift card to get great deals when shopping for ingredients or sell gift cards for cash! This site is cool because it lets users purchase gift cards for less than their value, helping to save you some extra money-- be sure to check out this site when planning to make your holiday treats!

  6. I could swap out the milk version for their dark without a problem right? If so, I must make this asap.
